Our Postdoctoral Fellowship Program prepares exceptionally qualified and motivated doctoral graduates who strive to become leaders for change in their community through their role in private practice.
It is a year-long, 40-hour a week demanding and challenging experience that provides rigorous and pragmatic training in evidence-based psychodynamic and relational individual psychotherapy.

Embodying Hope For a Better Future
Our Washington DC Psychology Externs form the front-line clinical team of the Capital Therapy Project, our low-fee psychodynamic therapy institute in Downtown DC.
Our Externship program is designed to provide intensive clinical experience and training rarely available in other training settings.
We emphasize psychodynamic principles in all aspects of the externship program’s clinical services including brief individual psychotherapy, multicultural competence, and working with DC’s LGBTQ community.
Our Externship Program is an unpaid 12-month training opportunity in Washington DC that emphasizes the extensive use of technological and supervisory resources. We aim to train tomorrow’s psychologists to excel as clinicians and critical thinkers in the evolving landscape of psychodynamic therapy in the digital age.
